ACR High Five Series Wraps Up with $664K Prize Pool in Main Event

The $1.3 million GTD High Five Series at Americas Cardroom played to a conclusion yesterday, but not before the $420,000 GTD Main Event attracted 1,581 entrants to create $664,020 in prize money.

Those entrants each plunked down a $420 + $30 buy-in, resulting in the prize pool ballooning to more than 50% larger than the stated guarantee in the 420-friendly festival.  It was "Package5" who took home the title along with $124,835.76 in winnings.

2 Hitokiri_Battousai $77,358.33
3 All In Pav $53,453.61

Another big High Five event was the $250K GTD Warm Up 8-Max featuring an entry fee of only $109. Late registration of five hours was time enough for 2,635 entrants to participate, each aiming for a piece of $263,500 in prize money.

Payouts went to the top 306 players with "IMJUSTTHEMAN" earning the largest share by topping the field and winning $42,687. Runner-up honors belonged to "Malamignadugo" ($31,620).

3 Omoplata $23,583.25

On the regular Sunday schedule at ACR is the $200K GTD that routinely sees a much larger prize pool. That was no exception yesterday when 261 entrants participated at $1,050 each.

With $261,000 up for grabs and the lion's share set at $56,115, a heads-up clash between "iwinatmygame1" and "flATLine_ur_Mind" ensued. Their battle was made possible after the eliminations of Alex "OutFoxenYou" Foxen ($18,922.50) in 4th place and "hornyunicorn" ($24,795) in 3rd.

Staying true to a boastful screen name was iwinatmygame1, forcing flATLine_ur_Mind to settle for $34,582.50.

A run at two MTT titles on the same day fell short for iwinatmygame1, with a 13th place finish in the $100 + $9 buy-in $125K GTD Sunday Special marking a gallant effort. Another ACR guarantee was smashed when entrants totaling 795 kicked in $215 each to boost the prize pool to $159,000.

"Nite Rider" emerged victorious, grabbing $29,812.50 in the process. Slotted in 2nd place was "pinguinachica", enjoying a bankroll increase of $21,465.
